Call for Virtual Mobility

The COST Action EUPopLink (CA23102) announces a call for applications for Virtual Mobility (VM) Grants. Virtual Mobility Grants support online collaborative activities aimed at strengthening cooperation among EUPopLink partners and advancing the implementation of the EUPopLink questionnaire across participating countries.

Duration and Location

All Virtual Mobilities must be completed by September 30, 2026.

Content and Focus

Virtual Mobility Grants under this call specifically support activities related to:

  • The translation and linguistic adaptation of the EUPopLink questionnaire.
  • The review and validation of translated questionnaire versions.
  • The implementation of the questionnaire in the survey platform, including uploading, configuration, and verification of content (following a mandatory training session).
  • The verification of question display, routing, response options, and language-specific formatting within the survey platform.
  • The dissemination of the translated survey.

The primary goal is to ensure that national versions of the questionnaire are accurately translated and correctly implemented for data collection. 

Financial Support

Successful applicants will receive a contribution of up to €500 each, toward:

  • The translation and/or survey implementation tasks.
  • The preparation and submission of the required scientific report.
  • The overall effort involved in completing the Virtual Mobility activity.

Obligations and Expected Outputs 

Applicants must ensure their activity aligns with the focus of this call and results in a tangible contribution. Expected outputs include:

  • A completed or revised translation of the EUPopLink questionnaire.
  • A validated national language version of the survey.
  • The successful implementation of questionnaire content in the survey platform.
  • Translation of the press release and dissemination of the survey.
  • Documentation of any technical corrections or language-specific adjustments.

Reporting and Grant Claims

Within 30 days of completing the activity, grantees must submit the following via the e-COST system:

  1. A formal claim for the payment of the grant.
  2. A scientific report to the Action MC detailing the main achievements.

Eligibility

Virtual Mobility Grants are open to:

  • Young Researchers and Innovators (YRI) and Senior Researchers;
  • Participants capable of contributing directly to the translation and adaptation of the questionnaire.
  • Participants available to attend a training session on survey platform implementation.
  • Native speakers from countries not yet covered by EUPopLink (see: https://eupoplink.eu/node/14).

Priorities

Priority will be given to:

  • Members of EUPopLink Working Groups (gender balance will also be considered).
  • Applicants actively participating in the EUPopLink survey. 
  • Applicants enrolled in an official research programme (e.g. PhD or postdoctoral level), or employed by or affiliated with a research-performing institution;

Evaluation

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis during the call period. Early application is encouraged. Evaluation will consider:

  • Quality and feasibility of the proposed work plan;
  • Expected contribution to questionnaire translation and survey implementation;
